Susan Segal

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, I started my advertising photography career after graduating from Art Center College of Designing in 1979.  I relocated to Napa with my husband in 1994. Another LA escapee who moved to the beautiful Napa Valley for greener and yellow pastures!  

Throughout my creative career I have been highly influence by surrealism, drawing upon the works of Rene Magritte, Guy Borden and Irving Penn to name a few.  From a very young age I knew I was a creative soul.   Photography was the medium that spoke to me. Growing up in Los Angeles was a hotbed of opportunities. After graduating with a BFA from Art Center College of Design I chose the advertising path.  Back in the 1980's there were not many women shooting in this boys club.  Being determined to succeed, I took many creative paths back then. I met many amazing people who trusted and collaborated with me, and who understood and went with my creative vision.  I never know when or where my next inspiration for my next creative project will come. I just keep my mind open and my camera close for "That Shot".
